Guide to Contributors:
The Ethiopian American (the “EA”) is
an Ethiopian American magazine and is produced for
and by Ethiopians and friends of Ethiopia or those
who are interested in the larger dimensions of the
Ethiopian community in Diaspora and Ethiopia. It aims
to bring together writers and readers from diverse
backgrounds including journalists, historians, artists,
academics of various disciplines, and seeks to act
as a clearing house of information on Ethiopia and
Ethiopians in Diaspora and in Ethiopia.
The EA is committed to publishing well researched
and well written articles on Ethiopia and Ethiopians
in Diaspora and in Ethiopia, including scholarly articles
that are accessible for a general audience.
Articles should not exceed 1500 words. It is preferable
to submit articles on computer disk, IBM format, accompanied
by a hard copy. Articles forwarded on disk should
be saved in word format. Contributors should keep
copies of all material submitted.
The EA follows the AP editorial style. Endnotes
and references will be accepted but will not be published.
Endnotes and footnotes will be provided to readers
who may request them. Articles should be accompanied
by illustrations, where possible, annotated with concise
captions. It is the responsibility of the author to
obtain the appropriate permission to reproduce the
illustrations in the EA.
Contributors should send a brief biography for publication.
